Hello again! Remind us who you are and what business you started.

My name is Tobias Young and I help fitness professionals build and scale a successful online fitness business from scratch.

I first got my start in the fitness industry as a personal trainer for 24 Hour Fitness way back in 1999. I worked my tail off from the very beginning, setting a club revenue record in my 3rd month of being hired. 5 months later, I was promoted to fitness manager of one of the largest gyms in San Diego. From there I managed and helped scale many corporate gyms over the last 2 decades.

Now, I have 100% of my focus on helping personal trainers transfer their entire business online so that they can have their time freedom back, create their own hours, and increase their income exponentially.

Currently, I have 2 programs to help my coaches. The Online Accelerator (8-week course) and my flagship program, Elite Level Coaches (6-month program).

My monthly revenue hovers in the $20k-$40k range with a goal of hitting $1 million in revenue in the next 12-24 months.

Tell us about what you’ve been up to! Has the business been growing?

Business has been steadily growing consistently over the past 1.5 years. As much as I put into the program, I have to thank my own mentor (Taki Moore) for helping me with game-changing strategies that I can implement and help my coaches with.

Always make sure that there are clear boundaries and tasks for each person on the team if you choose to partner up with someone.

I have a 9 step system that I take my coaches through in the Elite Level Coaches Program.

  1. Create a Bullseye Avatar to find and target our ideal clients.
  2. The Authority Builder is next where we work on becoming the “go-to” person to coach our ideal clients building the know, like, and trust factor.
  3. Next is becoming a Social Media Ninja! Creating a content strategy on social media to get our prospects to raise their hand wanting help and initiate conversations that eventually lead into a strategy call.
  4. A Lead Magnet is what we create next to build our list, nurture the prospects, and build more awareness to our audience
  5. An Irresistible Offer is next so we can create a distinct pathway to take the prospects from where they are now to where they want to go. This will help the coaches stand out from the crowd.
  6. Next is the Enrollment Mastery where we convert our prospects into high paying clients as the next logical step
  7. Now that they are a client, we now create a Signature Program that gets the clients kick-ass results so that we get more referrals, testimonials, and 5-star reviews on autopilot.
  8. Systems and Automations are next so that we can work on the business instead of so hard in the business.
  9. And finally Hyper Growth is the last phase where we start building a small team to take some of the tasks off the coaches plate so that we can scale the business from 6 figures to multi 6 figures. This can also include adding paid advertising.

With these systems in place, success is inevitable as long as the work is being put in. This has been a game-changer for the coaches I work with.

What have been your biggest lessons learned in the last year?

I learned a big lesson from a former business partner that I started the business originally. I was always 100% committed to the success of the coaches and the program, but sometimes a business partner can have too many other things on their plate which can affect the overall impact that they can put on the business.

Always make sure that there are clear boundaries and tasks for each person on the team if you choose to partner up with someone.

I don’t take anything back that I have done in the past, but I learned many lessons from putting a lot of trust in others that were not as fully committed.

What’s in the plans for the upcoming year, and the next 5 years?

In the next year, I want to be at 7 figures or 1 step closer to getting there. I realize that it takes time and dedication, but I see nothing but success in the future. I want to incorporate live events and a 2nd tier program for higher-level coaches in the next 1-2 years.

Have you read any good books in the last year?

I haven’t read any good books lately, but I have been heavily involved in mentorship programs which give me all the tools and tactics that I have time for.

Advice for other entrepreneurs who might be struggling to grow their business?

My number 1 tip for new entrepreneurs is to start working with a mentor from the beginning. I wasted several years trying to figure out the online portion of the business before I finally buckled down and invested in a mentor. That’s when my business skyrocketed!

You will either pay with your money or your time.

Are you looking to hire for certain positions right now?

I’m currently looking to hire a part-time enrollment specialist to take strategy calls. I have another enrollment specialist, but as business picks up, I am definitely looking to add another high-quality salesperson to the team.
