Hello again! Remind us who you are and what business you started.

Hi, I’m Sajin Rajan, CFO of Epixel Solutions LLC. We started in 2008 and have made our way into the software industry with the flagship product, Epixel MLM Software, which helps MLM companies and direct sellers to manage their business productively from a single space. Apart from that, we have been able to contribute well in the domains of e-commerce and direct sales with our unique products as well.

From kickstarting the business as a startup with five risk-takers, we now employ over a hundred employees, with customers from over 88 countries worldwide.

Tell us about what you’ve been up to! Has the business been growing?

Everything is going great since we have last spoken. Be it business growth or team growth, we have always had an optimistic approach to every single thing we do and we continue to be so.

Time is real. Embrace that fact and keep doing your thing until the right time falls for your business to bloom and boom.

The same attitude has helped us to get through the crisis that coronavirus threw on us. We already had a plan intact to cope with such emergencies and all we had to do was to execute it. Obviously business went a bit down, like for any other industry, but our plan helped us to stay confident and keep up the good work.

With an aim to set out with an improved product experience, we also have absorbed some fresh talents into our team. The hiring was done not just looking into their technical abilities, but also after knowing how high are they motivated to contribute towards solving people’s problems with the product.

We were pretty sure about one thing when the pandemic crisis hit us badly; the market is never going to be the same again, at least for the next 3-4 years. Simply because COVID-19 has been an eye-opener to many realizations, it is definitely going to impact their purchase decisions as well.

To countervail this, we planned our marketing strategy accordingly. Instead of trying to sell our product showcasing its quality, we have a high focus on trying to figure out people’s problems, how our product could be a solution to their problems, and then introduce the product as a problem-solver. We now implement this strategy pretty well in marketing our latest products such as cryptocurrency trading MLM software and party plan MLM software, which are both new and in good demand in the market. Needless to say, This idea has successfully been able to bestow satisfaction at both ends.

2020 was also the year that made us realize the real potential of our employees and their voracious commitment to the work. It was high time we needed to acknowledge their efforts.

What have been your biggest lessons learned in the last year?

Irrespective of the industry, the pandemic was the biggest lesson ever taught to every business, in one or another way. While it was a mishap too many, for us it was the time to realize the importance of planning. When nothing else could have helped us to cope up with such a drawdown in the business, planning saved our bacon.

The pandemic crisis had pushed many people into job loss and the thought of developing a side income struck many. Direct sales being one of the best low investment businesses that can be run at the comfort of their homes, people found it a better choice, especially for the health and wellness line of products. This was when people found our service helps to implement their business idea. We could have the satisfaction of helping people to make a living, and at the same time, the business from such customers helped to keep our functioning steady and smooth.

Along with these, we kept keen on updating ourselves to the latest technologies, so that our products stand solid in the market. We set apart learning hours on specific days in a week, so that our team members wouldn’t have to find extra time after working hours.

The confidence these new measures gave us in such a crisis is overwhelming. It has further motivated us to stay planned for the upcoming years as well.

What’s in the plans for the upcoming year, and the next 5 years?

If you look closer, the speed with which technology gets developed is mind-boggling. Artificial intelligence is an integral part of almost everything that takes birth in the market. Our progress is aimed at implementing AI to all of our products, to make them more user-friendly, and to make the business completely data-driven.

Another important fact to be noticed is the surge of scams in the MLM industry. Many scammers are trying to take advantage of people’s joblessness to lure them into pyramid schemes where people end up losing all their money.

To tackle this issue and to address it very seriously, we will be implementing anti-scam campaigns where we will develop dedicated tools to help people identify such faulty schemes and stay out of them wisely. Our ultimate aim is to make this industry trustworthy and help people to unleash the true potential of MLM business models.

While these initiatives might not guarantee any financial benefits to the company, this will surely make the industry a better place for people to come in with their eyes closed. According to our principles, trust comes first and business comes next.

Have you read any good books in the last year?

To be honest, I never was in a situation to devote time to reading a book fully. But I’m sure I’ve got more life experiences from the events that happened last year. One book I would love to read when I find proper time would be ‘Tiny Habits: The Small Changes That Change Everything ‘. I have been greatly impressed by reading its reviews online. Can’t wait to dive in!

Advice for other entrepreneurs who might be struggling to grow their business?

To all those who are yet to find their golden path to success, keep doing what you are doing right now and keep doing it more and more! Every single entrepreneur who has made his or her way to the top has gone through the struggle you are facing right now, in varying degrees. While this might be affecting your confidence badly and leading to self-doubt, understand that it is not uncommon. The lessons you get from the phase of your entrepreneurial journey are immense and priceless.

One common thing I have observed among novice entrepreneurs is that they focus on immediate results and get disappointed in minor setbacks. This attitude won’t take them where they want to. Time is real. Embrace that fact and keep doing your thing until the right time falls for your business to bloom and boom.

We don’t have any positions open for recruitment right now. But we will be happy to have the resumes of talented individuals and revert to them. Talent and commitment always inspire us and we would never miss a chance to have them onboard!
