Tell us about what you’ve been up to! Has the business been growing?

We are not growing, but we are not shrinking in the amount of our sales, either.

Inflation has hit most small businesses we know and has not missed us. We are lucky to have the most loyal customers in the world who come back time after time, but we see they are spending less than they used to. I think everything going on in the world has people and their spending habits, especially on comfort items, on edge. Plus, all our raw materials and shipping seem to be costing us more.

With that being said, we are still enjoying the combined income stream of retail online and at our shop, private label and wholesale, events at our store as well as hosting Make Your Own Scrubz Parties.

We started in 2006, so we celebrated 18 years in business on June 26, 2024, 13 of those with a storefront, having originally started in my kitchen and renovated garage.

We are beginning to work with other small event planners and have hosted various meetings at the shop. Those are the things I look forward to in the future. Having more community-minded events to celebrate the Main Street town I am lucky enough to have my store in.

I republished my book, The Power of Free Publicity: How to Build Relationships and Get Press Without a PR Firm to reflect the new query-based service, Source Of Sources (SOS), and updated my pages on HARO, Qwoted, and SourceBottle, other services that connect writers and journalists with the people that have information to share. It's a great way to get free publicity for any business.

I published a new book called Notes To Self: A Written Reminder That I Am Unique and Amazing which is a journal filled with ideas and prompts to remind you to appreciate yourself and celebrate your unique amazingness.

I love my people-centered, customer-service-based business. I am proud to deliver products that do what we promise. I love my customers and I am so lucky they come themselves and share us with family and friends.
