Hello! Who are you and what business did you start?

I’m Dani Prado, I’m originally from Brazil and moved with my family in 2014 as my husband was an expatriate to the US.

I'm the mom of a 12-years-old boy called Matheus and married to my first love. I also have a chihuahua dog named Shelby.

I am an Interior Designer certified at the New York Institute of Art + Design and a Professional Organizer and passionate about organizing, home decor, productivity, and balanced life.

In 2015 I opened my own business Go! Organizer, a company that specialized in personal & home organization, and since then I have been working with many families, transforming their homes and lives with my exclusive organization system S.M.A.R.T.

I truly believe an environment directly affects our energy, mind, and heart and I also believe in the power that function (organization) and aesthetic (decoration) can positively transform people's lives, leading to a lighter, balanced and happier home and life.

In 2020, when the Covid pandemic and the lockdown started, I couldn’t go to my clients’ homes anymore and we didn’t know when I would be able to come back. So, I realized that was the right moment to make my dream come true.

I needed to reinvent myself and make my work digital. That's why I developed my online service.

I figured out that I could create an online service and deliver the same experience I used to give to my clients. So, I did some research and launched my online service on the Fiverr platform and so my life completely changed.

Today I have clients around the world like Canada, Brazil, Panama, the UK, Oman, India, Australia, and Cyprus, and my work expanded to many people that didn’t have access to me and they are having their homes and lives transformed with my work. It’s amazing!

Another piece of advice is to get moving, use the MVP concept (minimum viable product) and gradually refine your product, but get moving, because practice leads to high performance.

What's your backstory and how did you come up with the idea?

When we arrived in the USA in 2014, I felt that was my chance to use everything I had learned in my 15 years of career in Marketing, to work on my own business, and in something that I really could make a difference in people’s lives.

I have a degree in Marketing and an MBA in Business Management. I used to work as a Marketing Manager in big cosmetic companies in Brazil and my career was always based on high performance and leadership with a focus on people development, creativity, skills in organization, and an eye for a good aesthetic.

I realized that when we organize our home, we are at some point organizing our minds, feelings, and priorities and making the energy flow again. It's life-changing. But, even with my success in organization, I knew that one piece was missing and I decided to study Interior Design to be a more complete professional and deliver to my clients not just functionality, organization, and yes, a cozy, elegant, and beautiful home stylish.

A total transformation created by a professional organizer and an interior designer.

Take us through the process of designing, prototyping, and manufacturing your first product.

I have already assisted my clients in person with the organization and decoration projects and when I decided to migrate to online services, I knew I wanted to deliver the same level of quality and experience to my online clients.

For that, as a good organizer, I created a process for my clients to receive the project easily and simply.

Since the beginning, I have always been concerned about delivering beyond to my customers, over-delivery has always been very present in everything I do.

My process is based on a very simple questionnaire, where I understand the main tastes, inspirations, desires, how they want to feel in the new space, favorite colors, styles, budget estimates, etc.

I also ask that they send photos and videos with measurements of the space.

The next step is for me to delve into the concept and style of the project design, and start designing a 2D and 3D floor plan to start all the layout planning and configuration of the space. And then create a mood board where I visualize the elements, textures, and colors that the environment should have.

Finally, I curate all the necessary items, in stores that the client prefers or where he lives. So we have a clickable shopping list with all the information needed for the customer, to just click, purchase the item and execute according to the design project.

Finally, I record a personalized video for that client, navigating through the entire presentation and explaining every detail of the project.

An amazing service to transform their home in a quick, affordable, personalized, and unique process compared to face-to-face interior design services.

Describe the process of launching the business.

In 2015 when I created Go! Organizer, my focus was only on Residential Organization, but my passion for decoration has always been very present and I loved surprising clients with a touch of decoration during my organization projects.

It was then that I decided to specialize in Interior Design to be able to offer an even more complete solution to customers, as I realized that I often helped them organize their closets and drawers, but in the end, their room was still ugly, lacking in personality and not at all cozy.

With this new positioning, I started delivering to my clients a complete solution of a stylish, beautiful, cozy and extremely functional, and practical bedroom with organized drawers and closets.

Since launch, what has worked to attract and retain customers?

I started my online sales through the platform Fiverr and it gave me much more exposure and worldwide reach.

Whereas before my clients were just from my city, today I serve people all around the world with my online processes that are optimized to allow me to serve several clients at the same time, which improved my revenue.

A good and consistent Marketing Plan and Social Media plan, made my business a well-oriented branding identity, clear positioning, content, email marketing, and everything very aligned to enhance the strategy of my business.

How are you doing today and what does the future look like?

The average of my revenue is around $2K-$3K per month.

Through starting the business, have you learned anything particularly helpful or advantageous?

The most important thing before starting a new business is to make a consistent marketing plan. My career of more than 15 years in Marketing has given me a vision and strategic planning of my business.

And as many people ask me about marketing and business orientation, I decided to create another company in parallel, Dani Prado CEO, which helps new entrepreneurs to structure their businesses.

This new platform has helped to boost many small businesses, mainly for women and Brazilians (my homeland).

What platform/tools do you use for your business?

What have been the most influential books, podcasts, or other resources?

I love reading books and learning more and more and the favorites that impacted me in my personal and business life were:

Advice for other entrepreneurs who want to get started or are just starting out?

To paraphrase T. Harv Eker in the book Secrets of the Millionaire Mind, to be successful, you must first take care of the roots so that they bear good fruit.

Many people focus only on the fruits (results) and forget to look inside (roots) and enhance what is best.

Self-knowledge is the key to prosperity because it is there that we recognize our strengths and weaknesses that need to be worked on.

Another piece of advice is to get moving, use the MVP concept (minimum viable product) and gradually refine your product, but get moving, because practice leads to high performance.
