Tell us about what you’ve been up to! Has the business been growing?
2024 has been a pivotal year for me and my business, Conversion Alchemy. After a lot of reflection, planning, and hard work, the business has grown in both revenue and maturity. Over the last 12 months, we generated $179,088 in revenue, averaging about $14,924 per month. This represents significant progress compared to previous years and reflects the focus I’ve placed on refining my services, improving operations, and building my reputation as the go-to authority in message-market fit and B2B SaaS messaging.
One of the highlights of this year was working with dream clients like Moz on a high-profile messaging project. This collaboration resulted in some of my best work yet and showcased the unique value I bring to B2B SaaS companies. I even turned the project into a detailed case study, which has helped establish my authority and attract similar high-value opportunities. (You can check it out.)
Another exciting partnership was with the media company Every, where I contributed a series of guest posts exploring how to use AI tools for better customer research and more efficient message testing. This concept, which I call Empathy Engineering, combines advanced AI-driven insights with my expertise in understanding customer psychology. Writing for Every has been a fantastic way to share my knowledge with a broader audience while connecting with some of the most innovative minds in the SaaS and media spaces.
These projects—and others like them—represent a shift toward the type of work I want to do more of: strategic, high-impact collaborations that push the boundaries of messaging and copywriting. This year, I landed my biggest projects yet, including deals worth $30k-$60k, while maintaining a strong portfolio of smaller projects in the $10k-$15k range. These higher-value projects have allowed me to focus more on strategy, research, and leveraging my expertise while spending less time on execution alone.
Another key milestone came in October, when I hired my first team member, Lynna, a junior copywriter. This decision marked the start of scaling Conversion Alchemy and improving project delivery without compromising quality. With her onboard, we’ve already begun refining workflows, completing client work faster, and building the foundations for a scalable business model. It’s been a significant learning experience for me as I’ve stepped more into a leadership role, focusing on clear communication, feedback, and systems.
Content has also played a huge role in 2024. I doubled down on building my authority and expanding my reach through platforms like LinkedIn, Instagram, and my weekly newsletter, 'Unpacking Meaning'. My subscriber base grew slowly, but I’ve started seeing regular inbound leads directly from the content I’m creating. Consistently publishing content has helped me stay top-of-mind for clients and peers, and has been a key factor in driving referrals and new business.
Another exciting development was launching my Message-Market Fit Podcast, where I interview B2B SaaS founders and operators in marketing, growth, and product. This podcast has not only been a great way to share my knowledge and insights but has also helped me build stronger connections within the industry and create opportunities for future collaborations. In fact, some of these relationships have already turned into consulting engagements or speaking invitations.
While referrals continue to be a major source of leads, I’ve started testing new acquisition strategies to diversify. For example, I experimented with hiring a virtual assistant to handle outreach and streamline some of my day-to-day tasks. I also began exploring the use of AI agents in my processes to save time on research and data analysis while maintaining the high standards my clients expect.
2024 wasn’t without its challenges. The business faced a few slow months, particularly in the first quarter, which pushed me to rethink how I plan and market my services. This reflection led to a more deliberate and intentional approach to goal setting, thanks in part to advice from mentors like Joel Klettke and the insights I’ve gained from my personal development journey. I’ve embraced the idea of treating myself as a “future-focused” leader, aligning my daily actions with the bigger vision I’ve set for Conversion Alchemy.
Overall, 2024 has been a year of growth, alignment, and commitment. I’m incredibly proud of the work we’ve done and the progress we’ve made. As we head into 2025, I’m excited to continue building on this momentum, exploring bigger opportunities, and leading with clarity, confidence, and curiosity.
