Why it works
Why it works:
This one is all about the title. I know the guy who posted it. We were both building products at the same time. He had already posted to the subreddit, and it got 0 upvotes.
First try: “Hacksource - programming tutorial search engine” Second try: “Spent the last 6 months building a programming tutorial search engine, what do you think?”
The 2nd title makes it personal. Asks for feedback. It’s more human. And that made all the difference.
How you can do it:
Go find subreddits that match your target customer, and give it a shot. Reddit can be a bit strict with self-promotion, so try it in many subreddits, and who cares if you get banned.
