How We Launched Our New Makeup Kit Collection

Hello again! Remind us who you are and what business you started.
Hi, my name is Anastasia, founder of Vizio makeup academy. Vizio makeup academy is an accredited online makeup school that teaches students from all over the world to become professional makeup artists.
We offer a variety of makeup courses, from beginners to advanced to SFX makeup artistry. Leading Hollywood celebrity makeup artists and influencers teach our courses. We are also very proud to be the only makeup school in the world that has branded and produced its exclusive makeup products. We have a fantastic, highly pigmented professional makeup kit collection and makeup brush set that we have just recently launched.
Vizio Makeup Academy has a gross of over 350K per month, and we are looking forward to expanding even more in the months and years to come.
Tell us about what you’ve been up to! Has the business been growing?
During this very unpredictable time of hardship due to the covid 19 pandemic, I am saddened to see so many unfortunate things worldwide. Still, I can say that we are blessed and fortunate enough for our business to survive and thrive now more than ever. Vizio Makeup Academy has increased significantly in student enrollment since our education is all completed online. With so many people at home and getting accustomed to online learning, we are in more demand than ever. Since we are so forward-thinking and visionaries, we have stayed ahead of trends and focused on technology's next level. We started online education over a decade ago, realizing that it would be a mainstream tool for all individuals to learn, shop, communicate, or gain knowledge and information. We have always believed in the importance of being online. It's an unfortunate situation with the pandemic, but it has catapulted online to take precedent, and we are right there with the boom. We have increased our staff and teachers, we have also hired new employees for shipping, inventory, social media, and more areas who all work remotely.
Everything is a learning experience. The key is to learn from the past and apply that knowledge to your life.
Speaking of growth, we have grown our social and customer base significantly this year, and our customer service has improved by hiring the most qualified, knowledgeable, and people-friendly individuals. I truly believe customer service is so essential for all businesses, and it's the heart of the company. We pride ourselves on helping and guiding our customers as much as possible. I especially never want to rush people or not help them and educate them; I feel so many companies want to take an individual's money and run, I am really against that. I believe one must stand out from their competition and be the best in their area of expertise and hold yourself up to a high ethical standard.
We have not spent a lot of energy or focus on new ways of driving more traffic to our business this year, but have spent a lot of time and energy on growing the business and making many aspects of the company run by itself. We are continually updating and fixing minor issues along the way, and once we find any problems, we fix them immediately. As with all businesses, we have to keep a constant watch with all aspects of the company, technology, and new updates are always coming out.

Vizio Makeup Academy's 7-palette collection professional makeup kit has been uniquely designed using the highest quality pigments and formulations. With our unique and diligent approach to makeup artistry, including our focus on education, we have carefully selected each color in the makeup kit to provide what is essential for makeup artists while considering the most popular colors and trends amongst professional makeup artists and influencers in the industry. The Vizio Makeup Academy team chose each color's names in the makeup kit, along with students, graduates, celebrity makeup artists, and industry influencers. Each name has a special meaning in their lives, resulting in a beautiful mixture that is inspirational, soulful, trendy, fun, positive, encouraging, and passionate. Our goal of this makeup collection is to bring success and love to those who will be extraordinarily applying makeup every day.
What have been your biggest lessons learned in the last year?
One of the biggest lessons I learned this year is about people. It's so important to hire great, kind-hearted, humble, and knowledgeable people. No matter their qualifications, the key is that they are humble, driven, and just happy people in general. I don't focus as much attention on their resume or past jobs. I am a firm believer in growth and learning throughout life. Everything is a learning experience. The key is to learn from the past and apply that knowledge to your life. I believe most people deserve second chances, and I also know everyone goes through rough times, but times do get better!
Another lesson I have learned is to be spontaneous and always prepared for anything that comes your way. Still, expect the unexpected because, in business and life, anything is possible. I believe it is important how you react that will make all the difference in the world. So, in general, always have a plan a-b-c-d to z. Dot all the I's and cross the t's and still have a backup of everything.
The most important thing I have learned regarding computers and technology is always to have a great backup system for everything essential for computers, websites, word docs, spreadsheets, etc. Make sure you hire a good company or platform to do random backups of everything in your business.
Nowadays, you do not want to get hacked or have computer crashes or websites down and not know what to do. If you have an automatic backup at all times, if anything were to happen, you can restore it quickly.
What’s in the plans for the upcoming year, and the next 5 years?
This upcoming year, we are very excited to be launching our new business, VIDVIX. With the pandemic, we have had so many people lose their jobs and income, especially great makeup artists staying home with no or very little income due to the pandemic. Many makeup artists worldwide have reached out to us and ask for jobs to teach in Vizio makeup Academy. With so many colleagues in our industry in distress, we came up with an idea to help all makeup artists and influencers struggling with little or no income and others who want to make more income or grow their business. So basically, this business will be for anyone and everyone.
We are looking forward to the launch of our new innovative app, VIDVIX, in February-March 2021. VIDVIX is the first and only marketplace for professional makeup artists and influencers to teach makeup classes live via zoom directly through the app.
Professional makeup artists and influencers can book, schedule, and teach classes privately, in groups, or have events. They will also create their profile and curriculum to teach anything from foundation application to highlighting and contouring eyeliner styles, different makeup looks, a killer smokey eye, and a natural everyday makeup to SFX makeup; the sky's the limit. It will be easy to log into the app and create a profile, customize, and teach students from all over the world. Now every individual who wishes to learn makeup applications can do so.

Have you read any good books in the last year?
I have a fond love for constant personal, professional and spiritual growth. I try to learn and gain knowledge from reading books and conversations with people, but I have also gotten into apps. I have a fond love for meditation, and one of my favorite apps is Insight Timer. It has helped me in so many ways, including sleeping better and having a calmer outlook on general things. Advice for other entrepreneurs who might be struggling to grow their business?
One piece of advice I think is important is to protect yourself from online hackers. Here is a list of ways to be safer and always be prepared for your online business.
If you have a website, get the Sucuri firewall. Sucuri is not that expensive to have extra protection for your website.
Always have an automatic website backup system that is key if you have new plugins or updates to crash your website. Having a daily backup, you can restore it at any given time.
Always have second-step password protection. Always have this feature on all your accounts and devices to prevent others from accessing them without your consent.
Make sure you change your password frequently. You can get easy software to help you keep all passwords secure and organize in one place.
These simple steps will help you to be more organized and more secure in running your online business.
