Updated: February 22nd, 2024

This is an editorial style guide for Starter Story.

If you want to submit a guest post to our site, make sure it meets all the requirements.

At Starter Story, we interview successful entrepreneurs and share the stories behind their businesses. Our audience includes entrepreneurs, wannabe entrepreneurs, people looking for a side hustle, and more.

So please only submit topics designed for the following topics:

  • Business
  • Entrepreneurship
  • Finance & personal finance
  • Technology, online tools, and software
  • and/or anything that is helpful for people that want to start a business or make money online

Content formatting

There are a few rules regarding the content structure:

  1. The intro should be quick and to the point.
  2. Use proper subheadings (H2 and H3) to break up the content.
  3. Don't write long paragraphs - 2 or 3 sentences are usually enough.
  4. Try to break up the content where possible with bold text, bulleted or numbered lists, images, YouTube videos, etc.
  5. The content should be at least 800 words long.

Language & Grammar

Articles should be written in the first person, using "we." Refer to the readers as "you."

Articles should be written in a friendly way as if you were explaining something to your friends or family.

Also, make sure the grammar in the article is correct. For example, you can use Grammarly.
